Officer suspended
The Karnataka government has suspended K Harish, the deputy conservator of forest (DCF) for Hassan district, for allowing quarrying in 21 acres of deemed forest land. The state government’s suspension order dated June 12 informed the same. The suspension order said that the prima facie evidence is against the DCF and he would be suspended till the inquiry against him is completed. It has been reported that Harish granted no objection certificates for quarrying in 21 acres of deemed forest land in Dadighatta village, Channarayapatna taluk. Six NOCs have been issued to different individuals for quarrying in six different parcels of forest land falling within survey number 224/p1 in Dadighatta village.
