Smiley Monroe, a global manufacturer of endless conveyor belts and cut rubber and plastic parts is celebrating ten years since they opened their first production facility in India. Founded in Northern Ireland in 1979 by Vaughan Monroe, Smiley Monroe has grown from a local company to a trusted supply partner to the world’s leading manufacturers of mobile materials processing equipment.

43 years on, with three global production facilities (Northern Ireland, Kentucky and India), the company’s success has been born from a determination to stay close to their customers and to solve their problems.

It was this strategy which first led Smiley Monroe to India.

As leading OEMs and key customers began to expand into this flourishing market, so too did Smiley Monroe and in 2012 the company brought 40 years of belting expertise to India. Based first within the facility of a key customer, Smiley Monroe Pvt now operates from a 23,000sqft dedicated production facility in Hosur, Bangalore. The move to the region enabled Smiley Monroe to provide the expertise, short lead times and customer support to their growing customer base in the region.  Manufactured under factory conditions to Smiley Monroe and DIN standards using automated vulcanizing presses and the latest CNC cutting technology, Smiley Monroe guarantee a consistent, high- quality product. Smiley Monroe work closely with supply partners in India, carrying out regular audits and raw material inspections.

In 2020, Smiley Monroe opened the doors to a 65,000 sqft production facility in Kentucky, USA furthering their vision to be the number one partner in the mobile equipment world. Smiley Monroe Group now produces over 30,000 belts and approximately 270,000 cut rubber and plastic parts per year between their three global production centres serving customers in multiple industries including road construction, quarrying, recycling and waste management and environmental.
