Sand Washing

This helps to further remove any moisture from the sand so that it can be used for various applications.

Conventional washers only produce a single grade of sand while products are sometimes being upgraded to produce dual grades of sand whose quality comes under question.  Material mixing mechanisms in the screen gives way to control the gradation of the output product to pass relevant standards.

Conventional washing equipment are cheaper, easy to install and operate but the 30% overflow is a concern. Equipment with poor retention capacity allows for saleable material to be washed. Newer models are actually high initial investment equipment but the break-even is achieved sooner than conventional washers.  Latest washers can be operated only be an adequately-skilled workforce, unlike the conventional washers. It is important for the team to understand the operation and maintenance of slurry pump, hydrocyclone and drives.
